Ashley + Alex: Engagement Photo Session

And here it is, months later after the fact! I took these photos this past October, and this was the first photo shoot I have done since January and before Belén arrived. I was approached by a coworker of Ashley's last year because her company wanted to gift her an engagement photo shoot. The day finally came, which took place at the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York City. This session was very challenging for two specific reasons - you cannot use flash photography in the museum and the large crowds of people. But we were very lucky on many shots! Many people were very accommodating, they would notice us shooting and would pause to let us take the picture. Below are some of my favorites from the engagement photo session. The first one is my favorite because I love how Ashley and Alex are embracing each other similarly to the couples dancing in the mural are embracing each other. And this shot happened by luck!

The photos were taken with a Nikon D750 and a mix of the NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED and NIKKOR 85mm f/1.4G lenses. I edited them in Lightroom and used a mix of the Mastin Labs Porta 400N Preset and Color Efex Pro 4 skin softener. I hope you enjoy!

Johanna + Christian: Mini-Engagement Announcement Session

This past Saturday, I had such a wonderful time photographing Johanna and Christian for their mini-engagement announcement session. This one was extra special for me as I helped set them up and now here they are, engaged to be married! He proposed to her on November 10 while they were up in Vermont for vacation, but they didn’t want to send out an official announcement until they had some beautiful photos to post. They contacted me and we decided to venture off in the early morning to Bethpage State Park with our coffees in tow. It was quite chilly but they both love the outdoors so it was fitting to do their mini-session here.

Hope you enjoy! Have a Happy Thanksgiving!

Hello Everyone! Over the past few weeks I have been working feverishly on giving my website a new look with new content! I have also been working on my brand identity, which has been very difficult. You will continue to see some changes to the website over the next few weeks, especially when I have narrowed down the brand elements :).

The idea of my blog is to post anything from client shoot recaps, photography tips, editing tips, and really any other topic around photography for that matter, and even some personal photos I have taken on my free time.

So with this post, I am going to show you all my new toy! Just a few weeks ago I purchased the Nikon D750 and fell in love! I used to shoot the D3s, but needed a camera with some more features. I went to the D750 because it is a full-frame camera, but in a much smaller and lighter body (which to be honest, took a little getting used to, but now I can't see myself using larger bodies!). I also could not beat that it has 24.3 MP, which was a nice step up from 12.1 MP. It shoots at 6.5 frames-per-second and has an ISO range of 100-12,800, expandable to 51,200! I don't think I will ever be using ISO that high, but I guess you never know. Plus, it has built-in Wi-Fi, which has been fantastic when I am taking photos on the go and want to post them to social media right away.

Anyways, enough about my new toy. I look forward to posting some great content here for you all!
