Long Island Maternity Photographer

Geib Family Beach Maternity Photo Session

I was so excited when my friend Megan approached me about a gift certificate for her brother and his wife. They are expecting and she wanted to gift them a maternity photo session. This session was done at Robert Moses on Long Island and I had such a wonderful time capturing the growing family! The pictures below are a mixture of medium format film and digital. Enjoy!

Carter Family Maternity Photo Session

You may recognize the beautiful family in the pictures below. I was lucky enough to take their maternity photos when they were pregnant with their first child, Ryder, who is now 17 months! Megan and Chris are pregnant with their second child, and they wanted some family maternity photos before their newest addition. We got quite lucky with the day because it was very cloudy and foggy until we reached our destination, and the clouds started to give way to some beautiful blue skies. We hung out at the beach for the rest of the day, which was so fun because I was able to document some photos of them while they were relaxing. Can't wait for baby Carter #2 to arrive!

Enjoy the photos below! I can't wait to share the film photos come in as well!

Megan + Chris: Maternity Photo Session

It has been some time since I posted, but life can get in the way, especially when you buy a new house, get a new job and become pregnant all at the same time! But there is always time when good friends come asking you take their photos for them, it is always an honor. Megan and I have been close friends for a very long time, about 13-14 years, so it is exciting for both of us to be pregnant at the same time, let alone only about 3 weeks apart from each other.

While the weather was not cooperating outside, the lighting was beautiful enough to get some great photos inside. Megan and Chris wanted to add some personal touches, such as having their dogs in some of the pictures and some musical influences in a few others as well, which I love doing because it really gives a sense of who they are.

The photos were taken with a Nikon D750 and a mix of the NIKKOR 24-70mm f/2.8G ED and NIKKOR 85mm f/1.4G lenses, and an SB-800. I edited them in Lightroom and used a mix of the Mastin Labs Porta 160N preset + Porta 400N Preset, and Color Efex Pro 4 skin softener. Below are some of my favorite photos from the session and I hope you enjoy!

Ann + Brad: Maternity Session

This past weekend I had my first maternity session, and was I nervous! Luckily I knew the lovely parents-to-be Ann and Brad, as I met them over five years ago through my husband, Adam. I was so excited when they announced earlier this year that they were expecting their first child! I was even more excited when they approached me last month and asked if I would take their maternity pictures. They wanted to do the shoot in their home, which I love because I find people are most comfortable and open in places they are familiar with. I hope you enjoy the pictures and keep a look out for newborn photos of baby Logan when he is born!

Hello Everyone! Over the past few weeks I have been working feverishly on giving my website a new look with new content! I have also been working on my brand identity, which has been very difficult. You will continue to see some changes to the website over the next few weeks, especially when I have narrowed down the brand elements :).

The idea of my blog is to post anything from client shoot recaps, photography tips, editing tips, and really any other topic around photography for that matter, and even some personal photos I have taken on my free time.

So with this post, I am going to show you all my new toy! Just a few weeks ago I purchased the Nikon D750 and fell in love! I used to shoot the D3s, but needed a camera with some more features. I went to the D750 because it is a full-frame camera, but in a much smaller and lighter body (which to be honest, took a little getting used to, but now I can't see myself using larger bodies!). I also could not beat that it has 24.3 MP, which was a nice step up from 12.1 MP. It shoots at 6.5 frames-per-second and has an ISO range of 100-12,800, expandable to 51,200! I don't think I will ever be using ISO that high, but I guess you never know. Plus, it has built-in Wi-Fi, which has been fantastic when I am taking photos on the go and want to post them to social media right away.

Anyways, enough about my new toy. I look forward to posting some great content here for you all!
